Objective and thematic priorities  

The study visit will provide the participants with a proper understanding of

  • Features of dual TVET, roles and functions of major players
  • New skills and emerging jobs greening the economy in Germany
  • TVET arrangements for sustainable development
  • Pedagogical approaches and new learning culture in green TVET
  • Digitalization in TVET
  • Qualification exams and quality management in German TVET
  • Teacher training and professional development
Program overview  

During the 5-days programme the participants will visit:

  • Hamburg Institute for Vocational Education (HIBB)
  • Hamburg Chamber of Commerce (HK)
  • One TVET school (profile: renewable energies, energy efficiency, smart technologies)
  • One Inter-company centre for skills training and vocational guidance
  • Two innovative enterprises/business associations in the field of renewable energies and smart technologies - with a focus on energy generation and transition, sector coupling, offshore wind, etc.
  • Hamburg Institute for Monitoring and Evaluation and for Quality development in education (IfBQ) 
Relevant information  
  • The professional development programme will be held in English
  • Continuous Specialist support throughout the week
Logistical arrangements  
  • Participants organise their travel to and from Hamburg
  • TVET Hamburg organises:
    • accommodation for participants in a 3* hotel (6 nights with breakfast)
    • inner-city transport during the study tour
    • meals (lunches and 2 dinners)
    • assistance for the visa application (official letter of invitation)
    • sightseeing tour in Hamburg
